         a little about me......

I have been a creative type since childhood.   I'd babysit and take the money to buy fabric to create a new outfit.  Mixing pieces from different  patterns, creating something unique, became the norm for me.  "Why follow someone else's guidelines" was always my motto.  After art school on the east coast I lived in LA which opened my eyes to all types of new styles and ways to be creative.

Fast forward many years and here I am back on the east coast doing something I love - being creative - still thinking outside the box.

I traveled many places in the US with my family as a kid - but as an adult my family travels have taken me to many interesting foreign and exotic places.  And every place we travel, if a beach is within driving distance we go beach walking looking for sea glass, beach stones and tile shards.  Two of my favorite places to "hunt" have been in sunny 29 degree weather in Connecticut, and in Spain, near Gibraltar, in sunny 92 degree weather always wondering where and what these broken pieces of glass have been and where they have come from.

I am very lucky to have friends with beach houses along the Atlantic Ocean - from Maine to Florida - and friends who love to travel internationally as much as my family does.  In the past few months, friends have brought me sea glass from the Cape Verde Islands off the west coast of Africa, the Mediterranean Sea, the Baltic Sea, The Adriatic, around the Greek Isles
and throughout the Caribbean Ocean.  Whenever we need a quick get-away, we jump over to Bermuda for some R & R (and beach walking).   This year I have a niece working in Scotland who is sending me beautiful pieces of sea glass, and another niece traveling for 5 weeks throughout New Zealand and Australia.  I have friends vacationing in southeast Asia who promise to bring back beach finds and beads.  In 2017 my family went back to the Adriatic and returned with wonderful "finds", and in 2018 we walked  the beaches in the Pacific Northwest.  Looking forward to seeing where 2019 takes me and my friends.

29 degrees, so much snow hard to find where beach ends and water begins. Connecticut
92 degrees, the beach is calling. Spain
